Welcome to Community Midwives of Thunder Bay

There are seven registered midwives and one adminstrator working with Community Midwives of Thunder Bay. From left to right, we are: (top row) Sandra Shymko, Nathalie Quevillon-Dussault, Alex Sieswerda, Lillian Dunn, (bottom row) Rebecca Hautala, Amy Huneau, Janice Sherrard (administrator), and Wendy St. Laurent-Coutts.

As individuals and as a team we bring many years of clinical, academic and life experience to your midwifery care. We have chosen to work together because we share a respect for childbearing women and their families. We believe pregnancy, birth and early parenting are normal, healthy life events.

The Community Midwives are committed to providing high quality, culturally sensitive maternity care to women and their families in Thunder Bay and the surrounding area.   We offer Midwifery care in both English and French.  As a community based practice, we work closely with local health promotion programs to ensure you and your family receive the most relevant and current maternity care.
